I created this blog to record the highs and lows of life as an army wife from my own personal perspective.
My husband and I have been together for more than half of my life. He's been in the military in some capacity for as long as we have been together. We have done National Guard, Army Reserve, and now we are on active duty. There are plenty of perks to this "military life" but there are also a plethora of downfalls as well. I'll say this the motto "Army Strong" is not just referencing the servicemember. As an army wife we have to also be "Army Strong" and those who find that they aren't also find themselves divorced.
I use the term we often because it's a family effort. Ok so many people argue that the spouses and children don't do the 16 weeks. Although we aren't the ones in the uniform, we do go through everything our soldiers go through. The 16 weeks of training was also 16 weeks of training for us getting adjusted to life with a vital part of our family away. We learn to do things like fix the plumbing, wash the car, pump our own gas...omg..., shop for cleats, and cups, and sign up for football...thekids learn to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and report cards via webcam. Yes, this list could go on. We are in our own 16 weeks of training so yes Army wives and brats are "Army Strong" as well!!!
